Red Hurley is an Irish singer and songwriter known for his soulful and powerful vocals. Born in 1949 in Dublin, Hurley has been a prominent figure in the Irish music industry since the 1970s. He gained fame as the lead singer of The Nevada, a popular showband of the era, before embarking on a solo career.
Hurley has released numerous albums, including the hit single “When” which topped the Irish charts in 1976. He has also represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest twice, in 1976 and 1981.
In addition to his singing career, Hurley has been involved in various charitable causes, including fundraising for the Irish Cancer Society. He continues to perform and record music, with a focus on traditional Irish ballads and contemporary pop songs.
